 Virtual SkillsUSA NM Fall Leadership Conference

Saturday, November 6 • 8 am-noon

Facilitated work sessions include:

  • Program of Work creation with your Chapter
  • SkillsUSA Framework & Framework Story Creation (Separate sessions for students and advisors)
  • Career and Technical Education Advocacy

Chapter members are encouraged to meet together in person for this interactive real-time training opportunity. At least one advisor is required to register and actively participate with students (especially during the Program of Work creation)!

Virtual SkillsUSA Elevate Conference
Wednesday, October 20, 2021 • 9am – 2:30pm

Cost: $10/Participant • Registration closes October 8

This conference, hosted by the SkillsUSA National Office focuses on building successful chapters by equipping officer teams with the skills to lead. At this conference, students will:

  • Identify the importance of Self-Motivation; Communication; Teamwork; and Planning, Organization and Management in serving chapter members.
  • Describe the intentional development of Framework skills through chapter Program of Work activities.
  • Analyze the four-step process of conducting successful chapter activities.


Virtual Pin Design Contest
Submission Deadline: December 1, 2021
Historically, the Pin Design Contest has been hosted as part of the Fall Leadership Conference. This year, as part of our virtual opportunities, all students are encouraged create pin designs for our State Association! 2021 San Juan College SkillsUSA Competition

Friday November 19, 2021 • 9am – 3:00pm in the Automotive Shop at San Juan College in Farmington, NM

Greetings From San Juan College Automotive Dept.:

This is a letter of invitation to the SJC_SkillsUSA_Competition on Friday November 19, 2021 from 9:00am – 3:00pm in the Automotive Shop at San Juan College in Farmington, NM. This event will provide your students the opportunity to compete within one of the best auto training facilities in the country.  Safety Equipment will be required (Safety glasses, appropriate shoes). Competition Points will be deducted for Non-Compliance at each station.  In addition, we ask that competitors be professional in appearance.

The competition will include all eight ASE areas for either hands-on skill or written knowledge or both.  There also may be stations for service manual knowledge, tool identification, and component identification.

In addition, the Diesel Technology Department and the Auto Body Department will also be holding a competition for any students that are interested in diesel technology or auto body. Please RSVP to Jason Hayes, hayesj@sanjuancollege.edu for Diesel and Jared Blood, bloodj@sanjuancollege.edu for Auto Body.

There will be donuts and juice in the morning.  Lunch will be hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, and tea, punch, or water.

Because space is limited, reservations will be taken on a first come first served basis.   Please RSVP by November 1, 2021.  We also need the names of your competitors for certificates.
